Dr. D.Y. Patil Hospital, Kolhapur and Pudhari Group of Newspapers organised a workshop on yoga under guidance of Mg. Trustee, Dr. Vinod on 13th May 2007 at Shahupuri Gymkhana Ground, Kolhapur. About 500 people attended.

On 19th May 2007, S.S.Y. organised a workshop (Kaayakalpa shibir) under the guidance of Rishi Prabhakar in Shinde High school’s Gymnasium hall at 6 to 9 p.m. Mg. Trustee Dr. Vinod was invited for the discussion on educational experiments. Mr. Girish Bapat (from Dnyanprabodhini), Mr. Patwardhan (from Swaroopwardhini) were the other eminent personalities from the field of education shared their views during the workshop. About 30 to 40 experts participated in the workshop and about 300-400 people participated in the lecture following the workshop.

A meeting of the Board of Advisors of the Kaivalyadham Yoga Institute, Lonavla was held on 17th June 2007 at Lonawala. Mg. Trustee Dr. Vinod, Mr. B.N. Shrikrishna, Mr. Dhanuka (former judge of the supreme court), Mr. S.K. Tripathi, Mrs. Kumud Bansal, Mr. P.H. Parekh, Mr. Sadashiv Nimbalkar, Dr. Rajan Belukar were the committee members who participated in the discussion about planning the schemes for next five years. Swami Maheshanand chaired the session.

Aitihasik Vastu Samiti, formulated under the auspices of Pune Municipal Corporation honoured Late Mr. Gopinath Talvalkar (former President of M.V.R.F.) by hoisting a special board (Neel Phalak) at Gopinathnagar, Kothrud on 2nd Dec. 2007. Dr. Vinod was specially invited to share his memories about Mr. Talvalkar with the audience.

On 9th Dec. 2007, ‘Kaivalya Yoga-Mandir’, Tilakwadi, Belgaon had arranged a Yoga-workshop under a special guidance of Mg. Trustee Dr. Vinod on B.K. Model High school’s ground. Nearly 500 yoga enthusiasts participated in this workshop. Dr. Vinod taught them how to perform certain simple yoga postures in meditative way.

A National Seminar on Sports Science was organised at Lady Ramabai Hall from Sir Parashurambhau College on 27th to 29th Dec. 2007. Mr. Chandu Borde, the Ex-captain of the Indian Cricket Team inaugurated this seminar and Senior Sports Guide Mr. Bhishmaraj Bam was the Keynote Speaker. Mg. Trustee Dr. Vinod was invited as Panelist for the Panel Discussion on ‘Importance of Yoga in Sports’ on the second day of the seminar. Mr. Uday Panse, Mr. Pramod Wagh, Mr. Sunil Roti were the other speakers who also shared their views in the seminar. Six panel discussions, sixteen lectures and nearly 50 Research papers were read in the seminar. 600 students from different parts of India participated in the seminar.

Modern College of Computer and Business Studies, Shivajinagar organised a State Level Seminar on the ‘Impact of Life style Management on Health of Students’ on 16th Jan. 2008. Mg. Trustee Dr. Vinod was invited as the Main Speaker on a first day. He spoke on ‘Life Style Management’. The Chairman of Progressive Education Society Dr. Gajanan Ekbote spoke on the theme of the seminar. Mr. Anand Agashe (Director of Daily ‘Sakal’), Dr. Nitin Unkule, Dr. Virendra Sherlekar (Fitness Expert), Dr. Deepak Phalgune, Dr. Madan Phadnis, Mr. Vasant Patil and Dr. H.V. Sardesai were the other prominent speakers who spoke during the course of the seminar.

International Seminar on ‘Yoga & Spirituality’ organised by the Lonavla Institute of Yoga at Hotel Whispering Woods, Valwan, Lonavla on 17th Jan. 2008 to celebrate the third anniversary of the Late Yoga-Expert Dr. Manohar Gharote. Mg. Trustee, Dr. Vinod was the Chairperson of one session of this seminar. An eminent International Yoga Expert Dr. H.R.Nagendra and Yogacharya Mr. Shrikrishna Vyavahare gave their presentations during this session.

Mg. Trustee, Dr. S. D. Vinod was invited as the Invited Chief Guest for the National Yoga Week from 25th to 29th Feb. 2008 organised by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, New Delhi. He was the Chairperson of one important session in this programme and also gave the Keynote Address on the theme of the Yoga week. Central Health and Family welfare minister Mr. Ambumani Ramdossa inaugurated the function, Mrs. Anita Das, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Ministry chaired the programme and Dr. R.K. Shriwastav, Main Director, WHO, Swasthya Seva Sanchlanalay graced the occasion as Main Guest. Nearly 60 Yoga Experts and 400 students from different parts of India participated in this weeklong national event.

As a member of the the committee set up by Pune University to recognise PhDs awarded
by Yoga Bhavan, Kaivalya Nagari, Nasik, Dr. Vinod visited the institue in Nasik on 17th May 2008. The other members of the committee are Prof. K.R. Patekar, Prof. Dr. Nayna Nimkar (both working at Chandrashekhar Agashe College of Education), Dr. Nitin Ankule and Prof. T.K Baig from Kaivalyadham. Dr Joshi from the insitute had arranged for Dr Vinod convenyance. The comittee visited parts of the 20 acre premises of the institute and reviewed the documents, the course syllabus, the library, the residential quarters for students, the research work and the labs. The chancellor of the institute Mr. Vishwas Mandlik and office bearers, Mrs. Poornima Mandlik, Mr. Gangadhar Mandlik. Mr. Dighe, Mr. Deshpande, Mr. Niphadkar, Mr Deshapnde, Mr Patil and others guided the committee.

Dr Vinod was the chief guest at the "Yoga and culture" conference organised by the Laksmi Narayan Durga Temple Trust in Orissa. This conference was held from 25th May 2008 till 1 Jume 2008. Farmers, sadhus and laborers from the surrounding areas attended this conference in large numbers. Neerajmala from the Arsha Kanya Gurukul in Hyderabad spoke on the topic of 16 sanskars. Also, Swami Premanand from Ujjain spoke on the various topics related to spirituality. The conference was organized by RishiMaharaj Thakurbaba and SandhyaMataji from Orissa. Besides discussions of topics related to spirituality, the other major events included a 'havan',prayer meetings, a medical camp and distribution of free clothes to the poor. Dr Vinod conducted a session on yoga during which he demonstrated and provided guidance on the techniques of performing asanas in a meditative frame of mind. Dr. Vinod also visited the yoga and nature therapy centre run by the Trust.

On the invitation of yogasadhak and police comissioner Mr. Ravindra Sengaonkar, Dr Vinod attended the innauguration of 'Blossom Play group and Day Care Centre' in Kothrud, Pune. The centre is run by Yoga sahika Mrs. Manisha Sengaonkar and the Bhide and Deshmukh family. The centre was innaugurated by the manager of the Sakal group of newspapers and Corporator Mr. Abhay Kulkarni.

As part of the 10 anniversary celebrations of Gyana Prabhodini Centre, Nigdi, Pune, a special booklet entitled 'Development of individual and sociery through sport' was released on 16 June 2008. During this event, Dr. Vinod presented a paper entitled "Sport - A sadhana".

A meeting of the advisory committee of Kaivalyadhama was held at Kaivalyadhama on 24th August 2008. Retired Justice B. N. ShriKrishna was the chairman. Dr Vinod attended the meeting as a member. J.s Sahariya (Chief of Higher and Technical Education Board, Maharashtra State) and Mr. Subhas Khuriya (Joint Secretary, Department of Secondary Education, Government of India) were invited as special guests. Member of the governing board Swami Maheshanand, Shri O. P Tiwari, Dr. S.K Ganguly (life member), Dr. B.R. Sharma (life member), Mrs. P. L. Mandke (Associate Member), and Mr Subodh Tiwari (Life Member) also attended
the meeting. During this meeting, projects completed by the institute were reviewed and discussions were held on plans for future projects.

Dr Vinod was invited as the chief guest at a discussion organized by the Janata Shishan Mandal in Wai, Satara on 30th August 2008. The topic of the discussion was "Mental Health of teachers". The discussion was presided over by Dr. Rajendra Prabhune. About 200 teachers participated in this event. The head of the Janata Shikshan Mandal Mr. Anil Joshi was the main organiser and Professor Ganesh Kore was responsible for the introductions. The event finished with a note of thanks from Prof. C. P Patil. Prof. Desai was present at the event. Tukaram Takale accomapnied Dr. Vinod to this event.

Dr Vinod spoke on the topic "Yoga for overall development" at the Pawar Public School, Hadapsar on 6th September 2008 from 9 am to 11 am. 25 teahcers attended this session. The session was organized by the principal of the school Dr. Anjali Gurjar and by Prof. Mahendra Vaidya (son of retired teacher from NMV school Mr. S. D Vaidya).

Dr Vinod attended a special "GauriPuja" celebration at the residence of the police commissioner of Pune Mr. Ravindra Sengaonkar. Mr Sengaonkar is a gold medallist topper in the MPSC examination. Dr Vinod was escorted to Mr Sengaonkar's residence by handwriting expert Rajendra Bhide and his wife Mrs. Sandhya Bhide.

Dr. Vinod spoke on the topic "Suryanamaskar for a healthy life" at the conference on "Suryanamaskar and Yoga" organized by the physical training department of S.P. College, Pune. Yogacharya Uday Pendse and Dr. Nitin Unkule and sadhika and player and Ms. Juili Khare also spoke at the conference. The conference was held on 26th and 27th September 2008 and was attended by about 200 physical training teachers and students from different colleges. About 40 essays were also read out during the conference. Mr. Anantrao Mate, Prof. Madhav Pendse and Prof. Raghav Ashtekar organized the conference. Dr. Jagdish Hiremath spoke on the topic "Suryanamakskar for heart diseases". There were demonstrations of Suryanamaskar. Overall, the conference was well attended by many well known people working in the field of physical training.

Dr. Vinod was invited to speak on the topic "Yoga and meditation" on 14th October 2008 at the opening of a new clinic "HOLIS - Holistic Joints Care and Sports". The clinic launched by Dr Pawankumar Kohli and Dr. Sangeeta Kohli and the couple visited Dr. Vinod at Shanti Mandir on 5th October to invite him to the opening ceremony. The clinic focuses on 5 aspects of healing - care, prevention, education and performance.
